Dry Cleaning
Dry cleaning is a cleaning process that uses a solvent other than water to clean clothes and fabrics. It's particularly useful for garments that can't withstand the rough treatment of a washing machine or for those that are labeled "dry clean only."
The process involves placing clothes in a machine similar to a washing machine but instead of water, a solvent (typically perchloroethylene) is used to clean the clothes. The solvent effectively dissolves stains and dirt without damaging the fabric.
Dry cleaning is often preferred for delicate fabrics such as silk, wool, or garments with intricate details that may be damaged by water. It's also a good option for removing oil-based stains that water alone cannot remove.
Once cleaned, the clothes are dried in the machine and then pressed to remove any wrinkles. Dry cleaning is typically done by professional cleaners, although some at-home dry cleaning kits are available for small-scale use.
